  In Japanese, 'Suggoi' means 'Awesome' and it's an expression you'll hear often in Kochi. It's even just fun to say! Saw a dog skateboarding? Suggoi! Marvelled at the 5-story pagoda of Chikurinji Temple? Suggooii! Gasped at bonito being seared in 6ft soaring flames? Sugggoiiiiiiii! And yes, these are all things you can see in Kochi!

Suggoi Life was founded in 2024 by 3 guys brought together by the magic of Kochi and connected by a passion for sharing this incredible place with the world. Even within Japan, Kochi remains something of a hidden gem and ignored corner of the country.

With so much to see, do, and experience in Kochi, we were shocked at how difficult it was to access: a lack of organized tours, logistical hurdles, and a significant language barrier. Determined to fix this, we started Suggoi Life to live an awesome life ourselves, and help you do so, too.
